Fun prize!

These are on my wishlist. This wide-style band was really popular in our school the last couple of years. I haven't seen as many this year, but the kids would still LOVE these. I especially like that the sayings are casual (texting style abbreviations) and funny sayings like "This is what awesome looks like." I really like prizes like this because the kids wear them around school and other students ask what they mean. My students get to feel cool because they know, AND they're talking about Spanish in the hallways.A teacher in our district sells suckers to raise money for a school in Latin America. I'm going to tell her about these, too.

Prizes are great for when you don't want to give extra points

I teach university level freshmen. I run several "contests" through the semester on cultural issues that require reading, comprehension, and culture learning. I don't want to offer extra credit, so I give the winners (they work in pairs) prizes. They love these silly things. Especially those who are more competitive love to try to win them. These bracelets are one of several I keep in a bag to let students pick out for their prizes. They are very cool. Students love them. I bought them because they are relatively cheap and are light-weight to carry in a little bag with me to class.
