The Tempest Curriculum Unit
Students analyze the plot, characters, themes, and language. They paraphrase lines from the play and role play scenes. Students research and write as they examine the nature of comedy and tragedy.

Overview
Shakespeare’s final play, The Tempest, is a tragicomedy set on an uncharted island in the Mediterranean, early in the sixteenth century. The dominant themes are sin, atonement, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The story inter-mingles magic with political intrigue and romance.
