Mas o Menos but not that great

Video was more cutesy than informative. My students were immediately bored within 10 minutes of the back and forth between the hosts. I had to turn it off and continue the lesson with an old PowerPoint I had, that provided more information, culture and history of the celebration. We really need a better video that succinctly explains the Dia de Muertos without all of the personal and silly comments.

Van y Vienen Dia De los Muertos

The older video about Dia De los Muertos by Teacher's Discovery is much more interesting, fun and a delight to watch. While "Van y Vienen Dia de los Muertos" makes an attempt to provide viewers with a more modern, colorful and interesting video than the one by Derrick and his nice friend from Mexico, they do not succeed. As a teacher, I observed my students' reactions while watching the video... they became interested in the first couple of minutes, but then the acting of the presenters becomes redundant and falls in the "everyday small talk" we might experience on any day. Bottom line, they lost their interest after minute 3, I had to stop the video, use one of my PPT presentations and then come back with Van y Vienen the next class. I am keeping the Van y Vienen because I paid for it and it was my mistake not to see it was just a 19 min video for the price I paid... so I am stuck with it, but from a teacher's perspective, it would be much nicer and interesting to have the same presenters focus on the important aspects of Dia de los Muertos and the tradition in Mexico rather than on themselves or the make up they put on their faces. Dia de los Muertos is much more than face painting.
