A: Hi Monica, Thank you for inquiring about The Big CI Book. The book is for general CI, not specific to French. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Thanks again, Kristin
Q:Is the "Big CI book" 2 books ? or one book
and if it is 1 book...
One seems to be with spirals while the other seems to be like a regular book.

A: Hi Leah, Thank you for your inquiry! The book does not include lesson plans. It's intended to present techniques and strategies that any WL teacher can use regardless of the scope and sequence they follow - descriptions of activities that can be used to deliver comprehensible input (target language students can completely understand). The descriptions are thorough and describe in detail both "the how" and "the why" of the activities. The activities generally don't require much in the way of prep or special equipment. They are suitable mainly for MS and HS levels, though some could be used at the elementary level. The skills and techniques are all based on the TPRS/CI core philosophy that people learn languages from hearing a word and understanding the meaning of it in varied and interesting contexts many times (repetitions of compelling comprehensible input) until the meaning and usage of it is absorbed (the language has been acquired). Hope this helps, we welcome your questions :)
Q:Before I purchase this book, I'd like to know how useful would it be for me since I teach preschool and elementary. I have some knowledge about CI, but want to learn more about it. I read that the activities in this book are more suitable for Middle and High School. If this book is not for me, is there any other book that can help me improve my teaching with my young students.

A: Hi Rosa, Thanks for your question. Since the strategies in the book were developed with older kids, it's hard to say which ones would be useful or adaptable for elementary. Please email me at kristin@teachersdiscovery.com and I will send you some links/info you might find helpful. Have a great day! -Kristin
Q:Is this book appropriate for Elementary (K-5) Spanish teachers or is it more for MS/HS? Thanks for letting me know!
