Q:Hi,
I was wondering if this would be okay to do with students who have no prior knowledge of the French language at all? Sort of as an intro unit? Thanks for letting me know!

A: Hi Katelyn, Thanks for your question. We sent your message to our author, an experienced teacher, and she sent us the following message that hopefully is helpful to you regarding the purchase of this thematic unit.
Response from the author: After going over each activity while thinking about what my first year lesson student would need to succeed. I think this unit could be used as the very first unit. These would be my suggestions to make it easier on the kids (yet just as fun):Students should do the Interpersonal activities with a partner in order to get used to the style of questions and the culture being taught; Resource excerpt on page 14 might be difficult. So, I would complete the activity on page 17 first, then page 15 and use the excerpt on page 14 after having already studied the language in its context; and for the speaking and writing activities, students will need direct grammar instruction for sentence structure and verb conjugations.
Please check over the chapter previews and teacher notes that give you a look inside the unit, and keep in mind we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day! -Kristin
